Participants can spend a day painting the familiar streets of Olde Towne Clinton, settle into two days among the porches and architecture of Plein Air Taylor, paint beneath moss-draped oaks on Mobile Bay, explore boats and coastal light in Bay St. Louis, discover the weathered character of the Mississippi Delta or experience the historic streets and river views of Natchez.In June, the series travels north to Monhegan Island, Maine — a place with a remarkable artistic history and a rugged landscape that has inspired generations of painters.Although every destination is different, Wyatt’s approach to teaching remains the same: becoming a better painter begins with \u003cstrong\u003elearning how to see\u003c\/strong\u003e.Participants will work on simplifying a scene, understanding values, making stronger compositional decisions, using color with intention and capturing the character of a place without becoming overwhelmed by detail.Wyatt begins each workshop with a painting demonstration, sharing what he sees, the choices he makes and how he approaches a painting. Participants then spend time painting themselves, with Wyatt working individually with each person to offer guidance, feedback and instruction.Workshops are open to watercolor painters of all experience levels.
