The Shack Up Inn, Clarksdale | Workshop with Wyatt | October 3 & 4
Embark on a creative odyssey amidst the soulful ambiance of the Mississippi Delta, as Wyatt leads you through an illuminating workshop at the historic Shack Up Inn. This workshop is an opportunity to authentically connect with the Delta's rich cultural tapestry, while delving into the vibrant world of expressive realism and honing your ability to truly see and interpret the visual nuances that surround us.
Nestled among the cotton fields, the Shack Up Inn is the perfect setting to capture the essence of the Delta. Wyatt will guide you in translating the rustic charm of the historic sharecropper shacks and the soulful vibes of the Delta blues onto your paper. Whether you're a serious beginner or a more advanced painter, Wyatt's approachable teaching style ensures that each participant gains insights into the art of observation and storytelling through watercolor.
We will begin each morning around 8:30 with coffee and biscuits or pastries at the Shack Up Inn’s Gin Bar to review the day’s objectives, and then Wyatt will do a demo painting while explaining what he is seeing and the impact on his painting choices as well as technical skills. Midday, we will break for a quick lunch and then spend the afternoon with a group paint session where you will practice what you learned that morning. Wyatt will work with you one-on-one as needed. We will conclude the day with a group critique.
